Chapter 14 – The Politics of the World
Politics is a subject that taunts many when they hear about it. Perhaps they don’t know about it too much, or maybe they just aren’t ready to believe anything related to politics. And then comes the ultimate question: should we care? Politics is never an easy game. The means and will from politicians grew extraordinarily in the modern day as it is so easy to manipulate information. The moment somebody needs to cover something, they bombard the world with useless information until the readers get annoyed and leave the subject. I look at the presidential race in the US and the latest election in Canada, and it kills me to know that there is no more honest world. I don’t necessarily blame anyone but the fact is that almost everyone has to play dirty to survive, kills me inside. There is absolutely nothing I can do to make that difference and even if I was able to make that difference in the direction we go; I would get shot down politically from every side. Politics is business and at the end of day, it’s a competition for jobs, money, popularity, greed and absolutely everything other than the actual purpose of it: the wellbeing of the population. I find, despite my treacherous ramble, politics should be on people’s mind. They should know at least about it and then, if they are not interested, they can opt out from involving themselves. It’s somewhat important to know the bullshit you are being fed, as with that, we are able to make our assumptions and go in our own directions in order to protect ourselves. Lies are everywhere, there is no more honest citizen and there is no more morals in the sphere of bullcrap feeding. Our opinions are devalued and some high class citizens governing our countries then dare compare my life to theirs, as if they understand the needs of a second class citizen, the ones that truly needs help. We have healthcare problems, students that can’t afford education and people living in the streets and here we are providing financial assistance to mega-conglomerations and providing them tax cuts so they can benefit higher profits which they will then invest in a poorer country with lower standards so they can make EVEN MORE PROFITS! And at the end of that snake, who benefits truly? Is it campaign donations? Is it lobbyists? Sure as hell I’m not seeing anything of that snake. Truth is, I love politics, and I talk a lot of wrong, but it is in the hope to educate people. The situations I present are not typical across the nations, but it is the core problem of our societies. We feed the reach and steal from the poor and what kind of freaking balance is that? I would love to be in politics and it’s essential to the business perspective I possess and practice in my everyday life, but my whole life could be used against me because that’s what politics is. People follow people, and as soon as somebody wants to provide real change, lobby groups and big money will do everything they can to shoot you down, for their profits. They don’t seek to help the world, and to balance out our primary needs, they just care about profits. As if a multi-million dollars mansion wasn’t enough, now he wants two of them. Sadly, in order to beat them, you must play their game because with the overload of information we get as technology advances, it is hard to keep up with anything these days. You can use the truth and think you will win, but you won’t survive. Nobody believes and even if the people did believe, there is so much at stake for a lot of people that they don’t have a choice. At the end of my story, I will always try to be in politics and that is for the benefit of people. I will show the world they have a choice and one day, at least I’ll know I tried my best. So be free, but be aware of what is going on as you never know how somebody’s decision might affect you or somebody that you love. We all need to know what we are fighting the day that you have no choice but to fight. Politics is everywhere. Twitter used to be fun, but now everything is opinionated, and the next thing you know, what you said is what gets you killed. Politics…fun.
